Making watertight...
It would appear that the bad news may have come to an end (at least temporarily). The welders have worked the entire weekend as the commercial vessel had to sail this morning so they have been up against it to get all the plating below the waterline finished. As I tickle the keyboard and grasp words of wisdom from the ether and convert them . . .
Of Dogs and Melancholy
The last few weeks have been, how do we put this, emotional. The blasters arrived, and promptly couldn’t start due to a compressor not being delivered. Then the pump broke. Then there was a cold snap which ended up freezing their lines so progress was a little, erm, slow. Add to that the fact that I doubt Zee had been stripped of her paint in . . .
Things more useful than a Selles and Van Dijk pre purchase survey...
I have been racking my brains thinking of the definitive list of things which are of more use than a Selles and Van Dijk pre purchase survey and here they are:

Shotblasting
If you have had a bad day at the office or got a snotty email from someone and think things couldn't get worse, just imagine doing this for 2 weeks and things will pale into insignificance. I am still finding ground glass in places my places didn't know I had places...
Tool Time
Tis the time of year (almost) for mince pies, holly and all things festive. It is also the time when I am asked by my beloved "What would you like for Christmas?". She seems unimpressed with my annual answer of 'world peace'. So for those of you out there who are or whose significant other is pretty useless at thinking of . . .
Frustration and Exhaustion
Frustration and exhaustion in equal measure. The shot blaster is an unpleasant invention of Satan himself. Only one who resides in the depths of hell could have designed a hose, with 2 other smaller control hoses running down its length supported at intervals. These are destined to catch every corner, piece of angle iron, sticky outy thing . . .
